2022 JC Christmas Parade Info, drop off, and pick up details for Saturday, December 3rd

Hello JCNMLL Parents,

We are so excited that your players are going to represent JCNMLL this Saturday in the Johnson City Christmas Parade!! Please read all the information in this email and the attachments in hopes that they will answer ALL your questions about the parade this Saturday.

PLAYERS(WHAT TO WEAR, BRING, ETC...):
Please make sure that all kids are dressed appropriately for the weather: gloves, jackets, hoodies, rain gear, etc... Players that will be with the regular season float need to wear their JCNMLL Spring Season jersey or their JCNMLL Fall Ball shirt(if they didn't play spring season with us). Players that will be with the All Star float need to wear their All Star jersey from this past summer. They can wear Santa hats, and any other Christmas accessories that your player wants to wear, please have them wear it. If they plan on handing out candy please have them bring a bag, or basket with them. We will supply the candy, but again your player will need their own bag to hand out candy. If they plan on sitting on the float instead of walking and passing out candy they can bring a blanket if they choose. The floats will have straw bales on them for the players to sit on. Parents(you) are welcome to walk or sit with the players in the parade if you want to.

DROP OFF BEFORE PARADE(you can drop off your child between 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.):
If you are dropping off participants, please park in the lot off of West Maple St. on the campus of ETSU. Please turn off of University Parkway onto W. Maple St. This is a one-way street(the road behind the BP Gas Station). Participants should walk from this area to the float staging area in Lot #9. We will be in the parking lot: C. We have baseball balloon arches, so you shouldn't miss us. We were left off the Participant List, but again we will have two floats in parking lot C. One float will be for the regular season kids, and the other float will be for the kids that played on All Star Teams this past season. Due to weather this past Wednesday night we weren't able to decorate the floats. We will be decorating one of the floats Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. so anyone who wants to help us is more than welcome to come. We can always use more help! The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. so that is why all players need to be with their float by 10:00 a.m. at the latest.

PARADE ROUTE:
Staging at ETSU Lot#9 on the corner of University Parkway & State of Franklin. The parade will travel left onto University Parkway, turn right onto W. State of Franklin, left onto Buffalo Street, right onto E. Main Street, right onto Colonial Way, left onto E. State of Franklin, ending in the Old Burley Lot v v at the corner of E. State of Franklin and Legion Street. All floats must stay towards the middle of the parade route roads for the safety of spectators.

PICK UP AFTER PARADE:

Instead of stopping at the parade pick up location we are going to go to the Float Tear Down area. So, please meet us in the Johnson City Doughboys parking lot. We will be tearing down the floats right after the parade in their parking lot. Your player will be ready for pickup there. You are more than welcome to help tear down too!
